Last night I wrote my letter of resignation to my employer at Le Reve Organic Spa & Boutique in Santa Barbara because I am moving back to LA to attend Chapman University; and I must say, it was one of the hardest tasks I have ever had to complete. I could not put the right words together in order to stay profession and not sound too emotional. When I was finally done, I realized that although it is very unfortunate that I must end a really great opportunity in order to open another great door, I am in fact very fortunate to have been able to go to work each day and be as happy as I've been for the last few months. I learned something new each day, I never dreaded being at work, and I worked for a professional, understanding, patient and constructive employer. It was a serene environment, a reason to enjoy the summer sun in SB for a few months longer, and a place I've grown attached to. The next few weeks definitely won't be a count down, and will move far more quickly that I'd prefer. At the end of the day, I realized that no matter where my education takes me, I want to end up doing something I enjoy, something I am passionate about with people I love. I am a strong believer in the cliché phrase, "Everything happens for a reason" and I truly feel that this opportunity was written in my life for a reason-- to be inspired, to be appreciate and to learn that even the best of things must end.
